Freddie Stroma seeks wisdom in pic
Thesp joins indie pic ‘Philosophers’

Freddie Stroma has joined the cast of the indie “The Philosophers.”
He joins a cast that includes James D’Arcy, Sophie Lowe and Rhys Wakefield.

John Huddles is writing and directing the pic, which revolves around a philosophy professor who challenges 21 graduating seniors to select 10 who would take shelter underground and reboot the human race in the event of a nuclear attack.

George Zakk and Cybill Lui will produce through An Olive Branch Prods.

Stroma can be seen next in the ABC Family pic “A Cinderella Story.”

He is repped by Affirmative Entertainment and Waring and McKenna.

Seems like Nico Tortorella (Scream 4)  will be on board for The Philosophers! Found this at Nico-Tortorella.com

I normally don’t post rumours about new projects unless they have been confirmed first, but “The Philosophers” keeps popping up. First Nico mentions to “Hellion magazine” that he is in talks to join the cast of a movie titlde “The Philosopher” (the “s” probably slipped) and now Widhi Wicaksono on Twitter (who is apperently involved in the casting progress) lists Nico among the confirmed cast members.

The movie, scheduled for an August 6 2012 release date, was written and will be directed by John Huddles and will star Rhys Wakefield (“Sanctum”), Bonnie Wright (the “Harry Potter” saga), James D’Arcy (“Secret Diary of a Call Girl”), Daryl Sabara (“Spy Kids”) and Sophie Lowe.

In a college philosophy last class’ last session, the professor challenges twenty-one graduating seniors to select who would take shelter underground and reboot the human race in the event of a nuclear attack. It is in fact a plot by the professor to sleep with one of his students, who he has already slept with twice before.

According to several sources (including the NY Times’ movies portal) the movie is set to film in Jakarta, Indonesia.
